NHLA Receives NH Bar Foundation Justice Grant to support NH Health Law Collaborative

NHLA is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $5,000 2010 Justice Grant from the New Hampshire Bar Foundation's Advancement of Justice Fund and the Vickie Bunnell Memorial Fund. The funding will be used to hold a series of trainings to medical providers in the North Country and a community education program in Manchester to support its innovative medical-legal partnership, the New Hampshire Health Law Collaborative. Working in partnership with health care providers, the New Hampshire Health Law Collaborative uses legal advocacy to address legal barriers to health, including substandard housing, poor education and domestic violence. The project was launched at Child Health Services in Manchester in 2005 and has since expanded to three health centers in the North Country: Ammonoosuc Community Health Services in Littleton, Coos County Family Health Services in Berlin and Indian Stream Health Center in Colebrook.
