Elliott Berry Receives Kenison Award from New Hampshire Bar Foundation

Elliott Berry, NHLA Staff Attorney since 1975, was presented the New Hampshire Bar Foundation's Kenison Award at the New Hampshire Bar Foundation Annual Dinner on May 11, 2006. The award was created in honor of Frank Rowe Kenison, Chief Justice of the state Supreme Court from 1952 to 1977. It is awarded annually to a New Hampshire attorney who makes substantial contributions to the betterment of New Hampshire citizens through the administration of justice, the legal profession, or the advancement of legal thought. Berry is considered the lead housing attorney in the state, has worked on many key cases involving zoning and cooperative mobile home parks, and has been instrumental in crafting many landlord-tenant laws. He has advocated on behalf of thousands of disadvantaged and low-income residents, focusing for the past seven years on homelessness, and is the manager of NHLA's Homeless Advocacy Project.
