NHLA Executive Director Receives Award

On February 7, 2008, John E. Tobin, Jr. was one of seven people to receive the 2008 Exemplary Public Service Award from Cornell University Law School. The award is presented to extraordinary Cornell University Law School alumni in recognition of their commitment to the highest standards of public service. Mr. Tobin was honored by Cornell University Law School as someone who has dedicated his career to providing civil representation to low-income clients and the “working poor” – the people just beyond the safety net and income eligibility guidelines of traditional legal aid programs. He is currently the Executive Director of New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA). He joined NHLA in 1975 and held a number of positions until rising to the position of Executive Director in 1996.
