NHLA Celebrates Opening of New Office in Concord by hosting an open house.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2008, New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA) celebrated the opening of its new office in Concord by hosting an open house. Governor John Lynch, New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice James Duggan, New Hampshire Judicial Council Executive Director Nina Gardner, Representative Elizabeth Hager, NHLA Board Chair John Funk and NHLA Executive Director John Tobin were there to provide brief remarks and participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony. The new office was made possible through a state appropriation obtained due to the leadership of Rep. Elizabeth Hager, Sen. Sylvia Larsen, Sen. Lou D’Allessandro, and Sen. Joe Foster. Concord-area Representatives Jerry Osbourne, Mary Stuart Gill, and Rep. Mary Jane Wallner also provided support. The office includes four attorneys, one paralegal, and support staff to serve low-income and elderly people of Merrimack and Belknap Counties. NHLA’s administrative staff has also moved from Manchester to the new Concord location. The office is located at 117 North State Street, which formerly served as the Concord office for the New Hampshire Public Defender Program. You can reach the new Concord office at 603-223-9750.
